We help research teams read journal systems, discipline context, evidence and planning routes as decision inputs. The author team keeps responsibility for the research, the evidence and the final choice.
Journal and discipline map
Quartiles, disciplines, core lists and indexing databases answer different questions. Every project records the edition year, subject category, source path and query date before a journal-level conclusion is treated as confirmed.
Use the Chinese Academy of Sciences journal ranking platform as a CAS-specific partition system. Record the edition year, upgraded table status, large or small subject category, zone result and query date. A CAS Zone is not a JCR quartile.
Use Journal Citation Reports by JCR year, metric and Web of Science subject category. A journal can have separate ranks and quartiles in different JCR categories, so the category name must travel with each Q label.
Build the discipline view from the research question, topic scope, method route, target readers and journal coverage. This is a scope judgment, not another ranking layer.
Keep core catalogues and database inclusion separate. Record the catalogue name and edition when used, then record the database, index, journal profile and update date. Do not call a journal core only because it is indexed.
Working context
We turn loose questions into reviewable briefs. Each deliverable shows inputs, criteria, source records and open decisions instead of hiding the judgment process.

We map journal scope, CAS zones, JCR categories, indexing status, open access signals and fit risks against agreed conditions. Deliverable: Landscape Brief with criteria, source dates and pending items.
We organize the research question, materials, method path, review milestones and expected outputs into a route the team can adjust. Deliverable: Research Route with assumptions and decision points.
We structure literature, methods, source notes and comparison evidence so later reviewers can trace each claim. Deliverable: Evidence Package with references, records and gaps.

Our role is to make evidence and options clearer. We do not replace authors, reviewers, editors or institutional evaluation rules.
